That's Not Who You Are... The stories you've been told are not your identity.

There was a time when I believed every thought that passed through my mind.

Every insecurity.

Every fear.

Every doubt.

Every label.

If I thought it, it must be true.

If someone said it, it must define me.

If I felt it long enough, it must simply be who I was.

Looking back now, I realize something heartbreaking.

Somewhere along the way, I stopped listening to my own soul...

and I started listening to everyone else's voices.

Not all at once.

Little by little.

A comment.

A comparison.

A disappointment.

A criticism.

An expectation.

A look.

A silence.

A moment that seemed small at the time but quietly whispered,

"This is who you are."

Too sensitive.

Too emotional.

Too loud.

Too quiet.

Not smart enough.

Not pretty enough.

Not successful enough.

Not worthy enough.

We begin collecting these messages long before we're old enough to question them.

And because they're repeated...

we mistake them for the truth.

Eventually, we stop saying,

"That's what happened to me."

And we begin saying,

"That's who I am."

I think that's one of the greatest tragedies of being human.

Not that we experience pain.

But that we confuse our experiences...

with our identity.

Here's what I've come to believe.

Beneath every story you've ever believed about yourself...

there is someone untouched.

Your Soul.

The Divine within you.

The Power Within.

Not the personality you've built to survive.

Not the roles you've learned to play.

Not the masks you've worn to be accepted.

The real you.

The part of you that has never once believed you were broken.

The part of you that has never questioned your worth.

The part of you that has always known exactly who you are.

That voice doesn't scream.

It doesn't compete with fear.

It doesn't argue with shame.

It waits.

Patiently.

Lovingly.

Faithfully.

Waiting for the noise to quiet down enough that you'll hear it again.

For so much of my life, I was trying to become someone better.

More confident.

More disciplined.

More successful.

More worthy.

I thought the answer was somewhere out there...

in another book...

another class...

another achievement...

another number on the scale.

I wasn't looking for myself.

I was trying to improve someone I was never meant to become.

And all the while...

the truest part of me was quietly waiting underneath the stories.

That doesn't mean the stories weren't painful.

Some of them were.

Some were handed to us by people who were hurting themselves.

Some were spoken in anger.

Some were passed down through generations.

Some were never spoken at all.

But here's what I've learned.

Just because someone handed you a story...

doesn't mean you have to keep carrying it.

I believe that's the real work.

Not becoming someone new.

Not fixing yourself.

Not earning your worth.

But gently laying down every story that has convinced you you're anything less than who you truly are.

Peeling back the layers.

One by one.

Until the only voice left is the one that has been with you since the beginning.

The still, small voice.

The voice that doesn't condemn.

The voice that doesn't compare.

The voice that doesn't shame.

The voice that simply reminds you...

"This is who you are."

Loved.

Whole.

Worthy.

A unique expression of the Creator.

A beautiful soul with gifts that only you can bring into this world.

Maybe that's why this work is called The Power Within.

Because the life you're longing for isn't created by becoming someone else.

It's created by living as the person you've always been underneath the fear, the labels, and the stories.

The Power Within isn't something you earn.

It isn't something someone else gives you.

It has been there all along.

Waiting.

Not for you to become more...

but for you to remember.
